I feel like it's about time I leave a review for one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. Back when I lived in Fremont for quite some time, this joint was the closest Vietnamese restaurant to my place. I would come in to eat here alone all the time. I have a thing where if I really enjoy certain foods or restaurants, I can eat it daily and repeatedly for long periods of time. Because of this, I can proudly say I am a regular at several restaurants where they may not all exactly know my name but they know my order. That's when I knew I made it- When I can enter a restaurant, and they say "the usual?" This was one of those spots. This is where I discovered one of my favorite Vietnamese foods, Bo Kho (Beef Stew) and fell in love. I would eat this all the time alone, then eventually started coming with my coworkers and friends and it became our ritual. I no longer needed to ask for just 1 water cup, but several (though I never minded eating alone). Their spring rolls are amazing as well. You would think a simple dish as such cannot be messed up, but you'd be surprised. This place is not one of them.

Anyway, ever since I moved back to Southern California, I've been on the hunt for a place that serves Bo Kho similar to Pho VN, but to no avail. The closest I could find was maybe Brodard's in Garden Grove.
Nonetheless, I'll be going back to Nor Cal in a couple weeks for a work trip, and when I do, I'll be visiting this gem where the friendly staff will greet me with open arms. See you soon! : )

Still my go to place for pho! This time I got a rice plate: grill beef over steamed rice, my usual fresh spring rolls, and sea food egg noodle soup.

The spring rolls were good as usual so you can't go wrong with this order. They also got this out to us pretty fast.

The rice plate was good and it had decently sized portions. It came with a small side of a salad and soup as well.

The egg noodle soup had a decent amount of meat in it and the egg noodles were nice and firm.

Need to try more. I'd definitely recommend this place to others!

    Great Customer Service!

This place is cash only. They have an ATM machine there but my cheap booty refuses to pay the transaction fee so when I was walking out I realize I had about 30 bucks on me. I asked them to add it up and I pulled out my cash and I was short a little. The lady was really nice in front and said you can pay me back next time. WOW! That rarely happens in the Bay. I'm definitely going back. :)

I've been here a handful of times bc it's really the only pho in the area that is good.  The pho itself is pretty tasty and I actually do like it....BUT I've ran into issues.  One time early last summer, we got here in the evening and they ran out of pho broth! WUT.  I got the hu tieu instead but that's not what I came here for.  This is PHO VN not Hu Tieu VN.

Other than that, it's usually pretty crowded which is a good indicator of the restaurant.  The service is actually nice.  There is a substantial menu with lots of other options like vermicelli bowls, hu tieu, bbh, and rice plates.

Bummer, I'm afraid to come back here for pho in case they run out again, but other than that the place is cool.

    PS Cash only!

This is the only pho restaurant we prefer to go to. Their staff members are always so nice. When I was pregnant they recommended to avoid the bean sprouts. Their spring rolls are so fresh and their peanut sauce is always on point and thick. My husband loves #55! The restaurant and restroom is always clean!
